60I…
Our name, 60I Mediation, is inspired by Section 60I of the Family Law Act 1975, which requires separating families who are in dispute about arrangements for their children to make a genuine effort to resolve their dispute via Family Dispute Resolution. The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia’s case management pathway extends this requirement to matters relating to both children and property.
In most cases, and where it is safe to do so, separating families are required to attempt to resolve their family law matters through a dispute resolution process before applying to Court for orders. Mediation, also known as Family Dispute Resolution, keeps decision making in the hands of the parents, is quicker and more cost effective than ligation.
We provide our service to assist families to discuss their issues in a resolution focused manner, which avoids the adversarial and costly experience of Court. We believe that mediation is the best option for most families navigating their post separation arrangements.
As dedicated and experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, we provide flexible and responsive mediation services to separated families who are seeking to resolve their parenting and property matters.
Our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding. We offer extensive legal knowledge and experience in working with families, families who we recognise are all different and who bring their own unique history. Let us guide you through this journey with care and professionalism.
